Nashville and Middle Tennessee is "Meat and Three-central" - "the" hub for these cafes, restaurants and diners. Living in an area that has so many Meat-and-Threes within 10 miles of my home, it made perfect sense to make
MEATandTHREE.com's home base right here in the heart of "Meat-n-Three land".
One day last month, the thought crossed my mind that some of you might enjoy seeing the Meat and Threes in the area, especially for the ones who have never even heard of a "Meat-and-Three" and are a bit curious. The idea for a small slide show for the local ones developed, but it grew from there. Once I got going, it was hard to stop. I had a lot of fun on this tour, especially with the new digital camera that my wife surprised me with about half way through the tour! I don't claim to be an excellent photographer - I am still learning the in's and out's of this really nice camera - but I think the photos will provide a interesting look into these wonderful and fascinating dining establishments.
The
Middle Tennessee Meat and Three Photo Tour is now available on the MEATandTHREE.com web site, and features photos of
more than 70 Meat-and-Threes in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. The photos are sorted both by the restaurant's
name as well as by the
city that the Meat and Three is located in. I would be most pleased for you to
take a look at the tour and I hope you enjoy it.
If you are a newbie to the Meat-n-Three world, you will see that each one has its own special look and feel. These are not part of a chain of restaurants, and they can be located in all types of buildings. They are small businesses; mom-and-pop owners; enterprising businessmen and businesswomen; great cooks; dreamers ... part of the backbone of this great country. Many of them have been around for years and years, and others are brand new-the fulfillment of a dream come true. Once you begin visiting them, you will notice that while the basic idea is the same, the individual flavor (pardon me for that one) of each place is what makes this dining genre so special.
So, check out the
Photo Tour, and get out and visit some of these Meat and Threes. Middle Tennessee does have a lot of them, but there many, many of them spread throughout the US (over 300 listed on this site) in other places.
Birmingham,
Atlanta and
Greenville, South Carolina are some other locations with a large concentration of Meat and Three's.
